Project Osmose | Video mapping lights up the FestiVoix

I was invited to join a collective of artists from the Mauricie region to participate in the production of Project Osmose, an immersive video mapping creation. The works were projected onto three facades of the Galerie d’art du Parc’s Manoir de Tonnancour for the duration of the FestiVoix de Trois-Rivières.

I was asked to represent the citizen segment of the Maskinongé MRC’s Carbon Neutral Challenge which aims to encourage local actions that tend towards carbon neutrality. I accepted to host a film crew three times during the summer to follow the progress of my efforts to grow and preserve fruits and vegetables.

When the second wave of COVID hit the Saguenay region hard, the Centre national d’exposition (CNE) in Jonquière was forced to close its doors just two weeks after the opening of my exhibition Beyond the Looking Glass. The event was extended until the end of March once the ban on access to cultural venues was lifted.

While the installation of the exhibition at the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre proceeded normally, due to the Legault government’s decision to close museums and exhibition halls during the pandemic, the City of Dorval is offering the public a 360º virtual tour accompanied by a presentation video.

The director of the CNE, Ms. Manon Guérin, proposed that I collaborate with her team to design cultural mediation activities to accompany the photographs in my series Beyond the Looking Glass. It was the perfect opportunity to enhance this exhibition, which has already been very successful elsewhere in Quebec.
